IN LOVING MEMORY
Gulbanu Amirali Nanji

Mrs. Amirali, Guli, Baby
April 25, 1934 – December 25, 2021
Gulbanu, our Mum and Nani, had so much love for the people that came into her life, even if it was for a short moment. She always looked for a reason to smile, and her warmth and laughter were infectious.
She loved her family more than anything else, and is survived by her husband Amirali (“Jimmy”), to whom she was married for 64 glorious years. She has two daughters (Zebeen and Noreen), five grandchildren (Imran, Farhan, Tahir, Tahreen, and Imaara), and one great-grandchild (Kaia).
A school teacher and headmistress at Aga Khan Primary in Nairobi, Kenya, she loved her students and was so proud of all their accomplishments. She remembered each and every one of them and would regularly talk about where they were and what they were doing today.
On December 25, 2021, Gulbanu took her last breath and said goodbye to the physical world. She spent her last day surrounded by family, filled with love, joy, happiness, and a big feast.
She was laid to rest at Victory Memorial Park Cemetery in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada on January 4, 2022.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un
Truly to God we belong and to Him we shall return
